Delivery and pickup

Using couriers in the qmen.us app

With the courier app, the courier gets the offer on their phone and accepts it, and you follow every stage on one board. Here is how to invite people who already work with you, find new ones and set the rules for each delivery.

Quick answer

Under Delivery → Couriers, invite by QR code or link, or find profiles in Find couriers. Agree on a fee per delivery, open the Delivery board and offer each order to one courier or to everyone available. If you want, ask for a photo and a delivery code, and settle up with each courier at the end.

What changes with the courier app

Until now an order reached the courier as a message with a link. Now the courier can also use the app at /entregador/: they sign in with Google, accept your restaurant's invite and start getting delivery offers on their phone, seeing the fee before they accept.

qmen.us connects you to the courier and records each step of the delivery. The courier works independently: they choose their hours and restaurants, and qmen.us is not their employer. The money doesn't pass through us either. The guide for couriers shows the app from the delivery side.

Why use the courier app

  • You see where every order is. The Delivery board separates what still has to be sent, what is waiting for a reply and what is already with a courier.
  • Offer to one or to all. You pick a courier, or let the first to accept take the delivery.
  • Fewer arguments at the door. A delivery photo and a 4-digit code show the order reached the person who ordered.
  • The fee is agreed up front. The courier sees what they will earn before accepting, so you don't have to explain afterwards.
  • Clear accounts at the end. The closeout shows what each side has to settle, with no spreadsheet.

How to use couriers in the app in 8 steps

The first two steps get you started with someone. You set the rest once and then just follow along.

  1. Invite a courier with a QR code or link

Under Delivery → Couriers, tap Invite to the app. A QR code and a single-use link appear: show the QR code in person or send the link. The courier signs in with Google and accepts the invite. Only then do they start getting offers from your restaurant.

  2. Find couriers in Find couriers

If you have nobody yet, tap Find couriers to see profiles of people in your city. qmen.us staff review the profiles, but qmen.us does not verify identity or background. So confirm who the person is before you hand over orders or money. Both sides must accept, and the phone number is shared only after that. When a courier asks to join or answers your request, you get a notification, if you've turned on alerts on the Delivery board.

  3. Agree on a fee per delivery

In the courier's record, fill in Agreed fee per delivery. The courier sees this amount before accepting each offer. qmen.us only records it: you pay the courier directly.

  4. Offer orders on the Delivery board

Open the Delivery board card on your dashboard, or go to Delivery → Delivery board. Each order sits under To send, Waiting for a reply or With a courier. On the order, tap Offer to a courier, or Offer to everyone available. Whoever accepts gets the delivery. If nobody answers within 3 minutes, the order goes back to To send, marked Nobody answered in time. You can offer it again. Nothing is offered again by a timer, but with the first-to-accept options an order that's still waiting can go to a courier when they make themselves available again, even one who let the offer expire. With those options, a courier with a lower position hears about it after the others have passed.

  5. Choose who gets deliveries

Under Who gets deliveries, pick one: I pick the courier, First to accept, as soon as the order comes in or First to accept, when the order is ready. With the last two, the offer goes out by itself to every available courier, without you tapping anything.

  6. Set the delivery photo and code

Under Delivery photo, choose Never, Only when not handed over in person or Always. Photos are deleted after 90 days, or when a dispute ends, up to one year at most. If you like, turn on the Delivery code: the customer gives the courier 4 digits on receiving the order.

  7. Handle delivery problems

When a courier can't deliver, the order shows up under Delivery problems. You can tap Try again, Give to another courier or Cancel the order. The customer is told that the restaurant will get in touch. If you cancel, a Pix paid through Mercado Pago goes back to the customer automatically. If it was paid some other way, you return the money yourself, and the screen shows how much. When a delivery fails or nobody takes an order, the Deliveries need you card appears on your dashboard, and a sound plays if the dashboard or the Delivery board is open (a browser needs one tap on the page first). On the Delivery board, the Turn on alerts button turns on phone notifications for these cases. They go to the restaurant owner's account only.

  8. Settle up and rate

Under Courier closeout, see the cash taken at the door and the agreed fees since the last closeout. qmen.us only keeps the record: you and the courier settle directly, and the restaurant pays the courier. A trip with no delivery, when the courier went out and the order was cancelled or moved to someone else, appears under Trips with no delivery with its agreed fee. Before you settle, choose Pay the fee or Don't pay for each one, since there's no default. The ones you pay are added to what you owe the courier, and you won't be asked again. After a delivery, rate it.

Frequently asked questions

Does qmen.us check who the courier is?+

No. Staff review the profiles, but they do not verify identity or background. Talk to the person and confirm who they are before you hand over orders or money.

Who pays the courier?+

You do, directly, at the agreed fee. qmen.us neither receives nor passes on that money: it only records the deliveries and shows the closeout.

How long are delivery photos kept?+

For 90 days, or until a dispute ends, up to one year at most. After that qmen.us deletes them. Until then they are visible to the restaurant and the customer, and to qmen.us staff if there's a report.

Does the live map show the courier's exact spot?+

It shows an approximate position. It can lag when the courier's phone is locked or a map app is open, and it only shows while they are carrying an order.

Does the courier see my phone number before accepting?+

No. The phone number is shared only after both sides accept.
