Tap Rate your order on the table page and that's it: you can rate without an account, because the whole flow runs in the browser, with no sign-in on any screen. The score, thumbs up and note reach the restaurant just the same; the only thing missing is your personal history, which needs an account.
What an anonymous table rating is
Rating without an account is the normal path in qmen.us, not an exception. The flow starts on the table's public page — the one you open by scanning the table QR code — and none of the screens asks you to sign in. Your answers are kept in a session in your own browser, so you can go back a screen without losing anything. When you send it, the rating is saved with the guest field empty: it belongs to the order, not to a profile.
Having an account makes only one difference, and it's on your side: without signing in, none of this goes into a history of yours. The restaurant receives the score, thumbs up, photos, tags, public comment and private note exactly the same. And to keep anyone from spamming ratings from the same connection, there's a cap of six ratings per hour at each restaurant — go past it and the screen replies Too many ratings from this device.
Why we don't ask you to sign up
- Nobody abandons a sign-up that doesn't exist. Someone who just ate has half a minute of patience, not five minutes. Cutting out sign-in is what gets the rating done right there at the table, while the memory is fresh, instead of never.
- The rating arrives complete, even when anonymous. Star score, thumbs up dish by dish, photo, tag, comment and note: everything is saved just like a signed rating. The restaurant doesn't get less because you don't have an account.
- The private note stays private. It's stored separately from the public rating, doesn't change your score and never goes on display. With a score of 3 or less, it reaches the owner's Dashboard right away — there's time to fix things before you ask for the bill.
- There's a limit for troublemakers. Each order takes only one rating, and anyone not signed in hits the hourly cap at that restaurant. No account doesn't mean no limits.
How to rate without an account in 6 steps
Six short steps and none of them asks for a sign-in or password. Apart from the star, nothing is required, so you can do it all in half a minute.
-
Open the table from the QR code and find the invitation
Scan the Table QR code with your phone's camera: the table page opens right in the browser, no app and no password. As soon as the order turns Served and the table hasn't been freed yet, the How was it? card appears there, with the dishes you ate and the Rate your order button.
-
Give a thumbs up to the dishes that were worth it
The first screen asks What was worth it? and lists each dish with two buttons: Liked it and Didn't like it. Nothing is required — mark one, mark them all or skip; tapping the same thumb again clears it. A small bar shows how many of the dishes you've answered.
-
Add a photo of the dish, if you like
Under each dish there's Add photo, which opens the camera or the gallery. The photo goes in with the Photo added label; if you send another, the button changes to Change photo and the previous one is discarded. When you're done, tap Continue.
-
Give your star score and check the tags
The second screen asks about the restaurant by name. Tap the stars — the caption goes from Poor to Excellent as you go up — and check the tags that fit: Hot food, Fast service, Nice atmosphere, Fair price, Slow, Noisy, Small portion. The star is the only required thing: without it, the send button stays grayed out.
-
Write the public comment and the private note to the owner
There are two separate fields, up to 600 characters each. The Public comment is what the restaurant can show to whoever comes next. The Private note to the owner is the opposite: it doesn't go public and doesn't change your score; with 3 stars or less, it lands on the owner's Dashboard right away, in the Ratings to check block.
Tip: Without an account, the name field stays empty and the public comment goes out unsigned. If you want it signed, sign in with your Google account before rating. -
Tap Send rating
The Send rating button saves everything at once: score, thumbs up, photos, tags and both texts. The Thanks! screen opens, with the See it on the restaurant page and Back to the table shortcuts. If the score was low, it lets you know the owner has already been notified and there's still time to sort it out before you leave.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install an app to rate?+
No. qmen.us runs in the browser and there's no app in any store. The path is always the same: scan the table QR code, open the table page and tap Rate your order on the How was it? card — which only appears once the order is Served.
Without an account, does my rating reach the restaurant any differently?+
It arrives exactly the same. Score, each dish's thumbs up, photos, tags, public comment and private note are all saved the same way. The only difference is that the rating isn't tied to anyone: the guest field is saved empty and the comment goes out unsigned.
How many ratings can I send?+
One per order: if you come back, the screen replies You've already rated this order and sends you back to the table. And anyone rating without an account has a cap of six ratings per hour at the same restaurant; go over it and you see Too many ratings from this device, so just wait.
Can the private note to the owner become public later?+
No. It's stored separately from the public rating, isn't part of what the next guests see and doesn't affect your score. Its destination is the owner's Dashboard — and, with a score of 3 or less, the alert goes out right away, while you're still at the table.
If I create an account later, do my old ratings go into my history?+
No. A rating made without signing in is saved with no link to any profile and doesn't create a visit record, so you can't claim it later. To have a history, sign in with your Google account before tapping Rate your order.
How long do I have to rate?+
As long as the order shows as Served and the restaurant hasn't freed the table yet. After that, the invitation disappears from the table page and the rating address sends you back to the table without opening the form.
Glossary
- Rate your order
- The button on the How was it? card, which shows on the table page once the order is Served and opens the two rating screens.
- Public comment
- Free text of up to 600 characters that guests write for whoever orders next; it keeps the rater's name when they're signed in.
- Private note to the owner
- The private field on the second rating screen. It isn't public and doesn't affect the score; it only ever shows up on the owner's Dashboard.
- Dish thumbs up
- The Liked it or Didn't like it you give each dish in the order, one by one. It's optional, and tapping again clears it.
- Anonymous rating
- A rating sent without signing in: it's tied to the order, not to a guest, so it doesn't go into anyone's personal history.
