Open Settings, go to the Location block and type your restaurant address, picking one of the suggestions; fine-tune the spot on the map if needed and tap Save. The coordinates put your restaurant on the map at qmen.us/restaurants and unlock the call-waiter button on the table screen.
What the Location block in Settings is
The Location block stores two different things that go together: the restaurant address written out in full, which people read, and a pair of coordinates (latitude and longitude), which only the system uses. The text appears on your public page, with a Google Maps link next to it; the coordinates are what put a pin on the map and measure distance.
You don't type any coordinates. When you pick one of the suggestions that appear as you type, we mark the spot along with it. And if you save just the text, without picking a suggestion or touching the map, the server tries to work out the coordinates on its own from what's written, using OpenStreetMap. When the address is too vague, that lookup can come back empty-handed — so it's worth checking that the marker landed where it should.
Why the pin on the map makes a difference
- Without coordinates, you don't exist on the map. The qmen.us/restaurants page only lists active restaurants that already have a saved latitude and longitude. An address that's written but has no spot is left off the list and the map.
- People at your door find you. On the qmen.us home page, the visitor's phone asks for their location and, if your restaurant is within 300 meters, an invitation shows up to open your menu directly.
- Call waiter depends on it. The button on the table screen only shows for people within 300 meters of your spot. Without coordinates, it shows for nobody, even with the switch on in Settings.
- Search engines understand you're a place. Address, city, state and CEP (zip code) become structured data on your public page, along with the coordinates — the format Google expects to tie a page to a real address.
- Your card on the map is complete. Besides your name and logo in your colors, the card shows the address and whether the restaurant is open now, pulled from your Opening hours.
How to add your restaurant address in 7 steps
Seven steps: four to fill in and set the location, one to save and two to see the result on the map and at the table.
-
Open Settings and find the Location block
On the Dashboard, tap Settings and scroll down to the Location block, just before Opening hours. There are four fields — Address, City, State (2-letter code) and Postal code (CEP) — and a map below them.
-
Type the address and pick a suggestion
Start typing in the Address field. From the third character on, a list of up to five suggested addresses in Brazil appears. Click yours: the field fills in with the full address and the marker jumps to the place, already zoomed in. This is the most precise route, because the coordinates come with the suggestion.
-
Fill in city, state and postal code
City, State (2-letter code) and Postal code (CEP) are separate fields and aren't filled in by the suggestion, so type them by hand. The screen itself says what they're for: they help your restaurant show up in searches like “restaurant in” plus the city name.
-
Fine-tune the exact spot on the map
The map just below shows a marker. Drag it, or click anywhere on the map, and the coordinates follow. It's worth adjusting when the street number lands in the middle of the block, when the entrance is around the side or when the restaurant is inside a mall or a shopping arcade.
Tip: If you've never saved an address, the map opens showing all of Brazil. That's normal: pick a suggestion in the address field and it zooms in by itself. -
Tap Save
The Save button stores everything at once and takes you back to the Dashboard. If you left the map alone and only wrote the address, this is when the server goes looking for coordinates from the text. The same happens when you change the address and forget to move the marker: we take it that the old spot is out of date and look it up again.
-
Check how your restaurant shows on the map
Open qmen.us/restaurants in another tab and find your pin. The card shows the name, the logo, the address and whether you're open now — that “open now” comes from your Opening hours, not from the address. Can't find it? Go back to Settings and check that the marker is really on the map.
-
Turn on call waiter, now that you have a spot
Still in Settings, turn on Let guests call the waiter from the table. With the switch on and the coordinates saved, anyone who opens the table QR code within 300 meters sees the Call waiter button. One tap instantly alerts the active waiter with the fewest open orders on their hands.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to fill in the address to use qmen.us?+
No. Tables, the menu, tabs and the kitchen display all work without any address. The address unlocks two specific things: showing up on the restaurant map and the call-waiter button on the table screen.
I saved the address and the marker didn't show up. Now what?+
It means the automatic lookup couldn't find that text. Go back to Settings, clear it and start typing again, picking one of the suggestions, or click straight on the right spot on the map. Either one saves the coordinates.
Can a guest call the waiter from home?+
No. The table screen compares the phone's location with your spot and only shows the button if the distance is 300 meters or less. Anyone far away, or anyone who denied location permission in the browser, simply doesn't see the button.
I moved. How do I update it?+
Change the address in Settings by picking the new suggestion, or drag the marker, and save. The restaurant map and your public page start using the new spot right away — there's no change request to file with anyone.
Does showing up on the map cost anything?+
No. qmen.us is free for the restaurant and charges no commission per order, and the map is part of that. It's not a marketplace like iFood either: the card takes people straight to your menu, and the order is yours from start to finish.
Do I need to install an app for this?+
No. Everything runs in the browser, on your side and the guest's — there's no app in a store to download. The map is one page, and the table QR code opens another.
