Open the table page from the QR code and tap Rate your order on the How was it? card — that's how you rate your order once it's Served. Give each dish a thumbs up or down, tap the stars and, if you like, write a public comment and a private note to the owner that nobody else reads.
What the end-of-meal rating is
Rating your order is the last stop on the table page. When your order turns Served and nobody has rated it yet, a card called How was it? appears on the page, with the dishes you ate and the Rate your order button. No account, no password and no app to download: it's the same page that opened when you scanned the table QR code, in your phone's browser.
There are two screens. On the first you give each dish a thumbs up or down and, if you want, attach a photo. On the second come the 1-to-5 stars, seven quick tags, the public comment and, last, the Private note to the owner block. Public and private are stored in different places on purpose: the note never goes on the menu and never counts toward the score.
Why the note is kept apart from the score
- You can complain without exposing anyone. The public comment is one thing, the note is another, and the screen itself explains the difference before you write. What goes in the note stays between you and the owner — it doesn't become stars or text on the menu.
- The owner finds out while you're still at the table. A score of 3 stars or less sends the note straight to the Dashboard, in a block called Ratings to check, with the score, the order and how long ago it came in. The owner reads it, sorts it out and taps Got it to clear the alert.
- A thumbs up points at the dish, not the whole restaurant. The stars score the whole experience; the thumbs up goes dish by dish, and the dish name is saved as it was that day. If the restaurant changes its menu later, what you said still makes sense.
- Almost nothing is required. Only the stars. You can skip dishes, photos, tags, the comment and the note — and the restaurant still gets your score.
- It's not a showcase for competitors. Your rating stays with the restaurant where you ate. qmen.us is free for the restaurant and charges no commission per order, so nobody needs your five stars to cover a fee.
How to rate your order in 7 steps
Seven steps, from the How was it? card to the Thanks! screen — and only one of them is required.
-
Wait for the order to be Served
With the table page open on your phone, you follow the order out of Draft, through Preparing and Ready. When the waiter marks it Served and nobody has rated it yet, a card appears on the page with the title How was it?, the list of dishes and the line Takes 30 seconds. The owner reads everything. Tap Rate your order.
-
Give each dish a thumbs up
The first screen asks What was worth it? and lists the dishes on your tab with quantity and price, like 2× · R$ 42,00. Each one has two buttons: thumbs up (Liked it) and thumbs down (Didn't like it). A small bar at the top shows how many of the dishes you've marked so far. Tapped the wrong one? Tap it again and it clears.
-
Add a photo, if you like
Under each dish there's Add photo. It opens your phone's camera or gallery, you pick the picture and the card gets the Photo added badge — the button turns into Change photo if you change your mind. None of this is required: you can skip dishes, skip photos and go straight to Continue.
Tip: A dish you didn't eat is a dish to leave blank. The screen says so: skip any you want — only what you mark is saved as a thumbs up or down. -
Tap the stars
The second screen opens with the restaurant's name and five stars. Under them, the caption starts at Tap to give your score and changes as you tap: Poor, Fair, OK, Good, Excellent. This is the only required part — the send button stays grayed out until there's a star, and if you insist you get the message Tap the stars to give your score.
-
Pick tags and write the public comment
Right below are seven tags to tap: Hot food, Fast service, Nice atmosphere, Fair price, Slow, Noisy and Small portion. Then comes the Public comment field, marked optional, with up to 600 characters and the hint Tell the people who order after you. The screen notes underneath: this text is shown on the restaurant's menu with your name.
-
Write the private note to the owner
At the end of the screen there's a block with a padlock icon and the title Private note to the owner. The field suggests Something you wouldn't say in public, and the fine print explains the rule: it isn't public, it doesn't change the score, and if your score is 3 or less it reaches the owner right away. That's the place for the restroom with no toilet paper, the music that's too loud or the waiter who vanished.
-
Tap Send rating
That opens the Thanks! screen, saying your rating is already live. If the score was 3 or less, a message says the owner has just been notified and there's still time to fix things before you leave. From there you choose See it on the restaurant page or Back to the table.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account to rate?+
No. The rating comes from the table QR code, in the browser, with no sign-in and nothing to install. If you're signed in, the rating carries your name and that meal goes into your visits; without signing in, it's anonymous and the restaurant doesn't know who it was.
Could the private note end up on the menu?+
No. It's stored separately from the public rating, and the only place it ever shows is the owner's Dashboard, in the Ratings to check block — which says in fine print: private note from the guest — not shown on the menu. The owner taps Got it and the alert disappears from their screen.
Does the note change my star score?+
Not at all. The score is only what you tapped on the stars. The note travels with the order to give context, but it doesn't count toward any average, doesn't become stars and doesn't appear anywhere except the owner's Dashboard.
Can I rate the same order twice?+
No: each order gets one rating. Once you send it, the How was it? card disappears from the table page, and anyone who opens the link again goes straight back to the table page.
What if I close the screen halfway through rating?+
What you've already marked is still there. Thumbs up and down, stars, tags and both texts are kept in your browser session as long as it's the same order, so you can come back and pick up where you left off. Only tapping Send rating actually saves it.
Does the owner find out who sent the note?+
The note doesn't carry your name — it's stored with the order and the score, nothing else. But the owner sees which order it came from, so if the order was opened with a name at the table, they can connect the dots. Rating costs nothing: qmen.us is free for the restaurant, with no commission per order, and doesn't process money — PIX, Brazil's instant payment system, is arranged directly between you and the restaurant.
