How to share your menu on WhatsApp and Instagram

Your public page has a nice short address and a Share button that takes care of almost everything: copying the link, the QR code and posters to download. And when you paste that link into a chat, the image preview appears on its own.

Quick answer

Open your public page and tap Share: that's where you go to share your menu on WhatsApp and Instagram. Tap Copy and paste the link into the chat or your bio — the image preview appears on its own. On Instagram, download the Square image and post it.

What the Share window is

Sharing your menu on WhatsApp starts on your public page, the one at qmen.us/your-code. At the very bottom is the Share button, which opens a window with three things: a big QR code pointing to your restaurant's web address, the short link spelled out and the send buttons. The sentence at the top sums up how to use it: point your camera or use the short link.

This QR code isn't the table QR code. The table one opens the tab for one specific spot in the dining room; this one opens the whole menu, for anyone, from anywhere. The same window has the Download to print or post block, with ready-made artwork as an Image (vertical, square or horizontal) and as an A3 PDF — your photo or your logo's colors, the restaurant name, the QR code and the link.

Why promote with the link and not a screenshot of the menu

  • The link never goes out of date. You changed an item's price, ran out of stock, added a dish of the day: anyone who opens the link afterward sees the new version. A screenshot of the menu gets old the same day and keeps circulating in the neighborhood group chat for months.
  • The preview builds itself. Paste the link and WhatsApp fetches the restaurant name, the description and a 1200×630 image we generate with your logo and your colors. You don't need to design any artwork for the link to look presentable.
  • It works on screen and on paper. The same address becomes a QR code in the Share window and an A3 poster to stick on the door, the counter or the window. Anyone walking by points their camera and lands on the menu.
  • The order stays yours. We're not a marketplace like iFood: it's free for the restaurant with no commission per order. The customer comes straight to your restaurant, and payment is arranged between the two of you — with PIX, the key is yours, and we never touch the money.

Step by step to share your menu

There are six steps: open the page, copy the link, send it on WhatsApp, post it on Instagram and, if you like, print the poster.

  1. Open your public page

On the Dashboard, the qmen.us/your-code address appears right below the restaurant name. Tap it: the public page opens in a new browser tab, exactly as guests see it — cover, logo, hours, menu and tables. It's worth a quick look before you start promoting it.

  2. Tap Share

Scroll to the bottom of the page, past the menu and the tables. The Share button opens a window with the restaurant's QR code and, right below it, the short link spelled out. To close it, just tap outside the window, tap the X in the corner or press Esc.

  3. Send it on WhatsApp

The same window has the WhatsApp shortcut: it opens the app with the link already typed in, and you just pick the chat or group. Next to it are Telegram, Facebook and X, which work the same way. As soon as the message goes out, the preview loads on its own with the restaurant name and your brand image.

  4. Post it on Instagram

Instagram doesn't open from a direct link like the others, so the route is different: under Download to print or post, leave Image selected and tap Square for the feed or Vertical for stories. The file downloads right away. Post that artwork and paste the short link in your bio or in a link sticker.

Tip: Tapping the aspect ratio downloads the file right away — there's no second download button. Downloaded the wrong one? Tap the other aspect ratio and you're done.
  5. Print the A3 poster

For the window, the counter or a wall, switch Image to PDF and choose Vertical or Horizontal — A3 has no square, so that option disappears. You get a PDF with the big QR code and the link underneath, ready for a print shop or your own printer.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't the link preview show an image?+

It's almost always the app's cache: WhatsApp keeps the preview for an address for a while. Try it in a chat with yourself, or send the link followed by a space and a word. The image is generated on the server, always at 1200×630, so it's not a missing photo on your end.

Can I change the text that shows in the preview?+

Yes. The text comes from the restaurant's Description, in Settings — one or two sentences about the restaurant, the same one that appears at the top of the public menu. Without a description, we show a default sentence with the restaurant name.

Does the preview image use my cover photo?+

The preview uses its own artwork: a background with your cover photo when there is one, otherwise the colors taken from your logo, plus the logo, the restaurant name and the short link in yellow. No QR code, because a link preview is meant to be clicked, not scanned.

Is the QR code in the Share window the same as the table one?+

No. This one opens the whole restaurant's menu and is meant for posters, flyers and posts. The table QR code opens the tab for that spot, and it's how the guest follows their order live, from Preparing to READY.

Do customers need to install anything to open the link?+

Nothing. qmen.us runs in the phone's browser, with nothing to get from an app store and no sign-in to see the menu. The customer taps the link and the page opens.

I shared the link and it doesn't show up on Google. Why?+

A page with no published items stays out of search on purpose — an empty menu makes a weak page. Publish your menu items and leave them active; then the page is cleared for indexing, with prices in the format Google understands.
