Why qmen.us is a digital menu with no commission

The question always comes up in the first conversation: if there's no commission and no monthly fee, where's the catch? There isn't one, and you can check by looking at the product from the inside — which is what we do here.

Quick answer

Use qmen.us because it's your restaurant's own tool, not a marketplace: it's a digital menu with no commission per order, free for the restaurant. We don't receive the customer's money — PIX lands straight on your key, you confirm the payment on the Dashboard and the full amount on the tab stays with you.

What a digital menu with no commission is

A digital menu with no commission is what qmen.us does: it's a tool that lives inside your restaurant, not an online food court where the restaurant pays to be seen. There's no percentage on sales, no fee per closed tab, no monthly fee and no card to register. The guest scans the table QR code, the waiter takes the order on the phone, the kitchen sends it out, and the full bill goes into your register.

The practical difference is who keeps the money and the customer. On a marketplace, the order belongs to the platform: it receives the payment, takes its commission, passes on the rest and keeps the contact details of whoever ordered. None of that happens in qmen.us, because we simply don't process money — when there's PIX (Brazil's instant payment system), the code is generated with your key and the transfer goes from the customer's bank straight to yours. We don't even see the payment go by; you're the one who checks your statement and confirms.

Why this changes the math at the end of the month

  • The margin on each dish stays yours. At a restaurant that brings in R$ 40.000,00 a month, a 15% commission would take R$ 6.000,00 away. Here that cut doesn't exist: the price on your menu is what comes in, order by order.
  • You don't compete for space with the place next door. Your public page is yours. There's no storefront with your competitors alongside, no ranking to climb, no ads to buy. Whoever lands there came from your QR code, your link or your profile — and comes back the same way.
  • Customer contacts stay with whoever served them. Order history, the day's revenue and ratings live on your Dashboard, and come out through Export CSV or Export PDF whenever you like. Nobody uses your customer base to promote the restaurant on the corner.
  • Trying it costs nothing, so you can try it for real. With no card upfront, you set up the menu, print a QR code, run a whole service and decide afterwards. If it doesn't suit your operation, you leave — the Delete restaurant button is in the Danger zone in Settings.
  • It grows with you without charging a toll. More tables, more waiters, more prep stations, more items with photos: none of it has a per-unit price. A four-table restaurant and a forty-table one pay the same — zero.

How to run all of qmen.us without paying anything

There are seven steps that walk through the whole product, from sign-in to reports — and a billing screen doesn't show up in any of them.

  1. Sign in with Google and create the restaurant

The sign-in screen has a single button: Sign in with Google. Then it's Create restaurant, your restaurant's name, and done. Notice what never shows up: a plan to choose, a card field, a required CNPJ to unlock features, a countdown of trial days. Those screens don't exist in qmen.us because there's nothing to charge.

  2. Build the whole menu, without counting items

In Menu you use + Category and + Item to add everything you serve, with description, photo and price. There's no item cap and no photo that costs extra — the image is converted to WebP on upload and that's that. If your menu is printed, Import printed menu reads the photo and gets the setup moving.

  3. Create the tables and print the QR codes

In Tables, every table you add gets its own Table QR code, and the print sheet puts them all on a single page. Patio, counter, that table that only opens on Saturdays: add them all. There's no price per table, so the number of QR codes you print has no effect on your bill — the only possible cost is the print shop's, if you have them printed outside.

  4. Take the order, send it to the kitchen and close the bill

The waiter opens the restaurant's link in the phone's browser, builds the tab as a Draft and taps Send to kitchen. On the display, the kitchen moves the order from Preparing to READY, and the waiter is notified right away. At the end, the button shows Close bill — R$ 42,00 and that's exactly the amount that goes into your register. Mark as paid next to it is only a record: it doesn't move any money.

Tip: qmen.us runs in the browser, from the waiter to the kitchen. There's no app to download from a store, so there's also no app subscription, no in-app purchase and no device to rent.
  5. If you want PIX, the key is yours and so is the money

PIX is optional and applies to delivery orders placed through the chat. In Settings you turn on PIX payment and fill in PIX key (CPF/CNPJ, email, phone number or random key) and Recipient name. The customer taps Pay now via PIX, scans the QR code or uses Copy code, and the transfer goes from their bank straight to yours. The field's help text says it in so many words: qmen.us doesn't receive the money.

  6. Confirm the payment yourself, on the Dashboard

Until the payment is confirmed, the delivery order is held and doesn't reach the kitchen. On the Dashboard, the Payments to confirm block appears, with a reminder to check your account before deciding. You open your bank, see the amount there and tap Confirm payment — and only then is the order sent to the kitchen. If the PIX payment didn't land, Reject order cancels it. You have the final word, not us.

  7. Take your numbers with you whenever you want

Reports has the period's Revenue and the Average order, with Export CSV and Export PDF right at the top. And in Settings, inside the Danger zone, there are Transfer restaurant and Delete restaurant. A product that locks customers in doesn't put the exit door on the screen. You come in for free and leave whenever you want, with your data in hand.

Frequently asked questions

Does qmen.us charge a commission per order?+

No. There's no percentage on sales, no fee per closed tab, and no charge per table, per waiter or per menu item. The amount the customer pays is the amount that goes into your register, because qmen.us is never in the middle of the payment.

Is there a monthly fee? Do I need to register a card to create the account?+

No and no. You sign in with the Sign in with Google button, create the restaurant and start building the menu right away. There's no plan screen, no card field and no trial period that runs out — there's simply no billing in the product.

If it's free, how do you keep going?+

For now, everything that exists in qmen.us today is free. In the future we may create advanced, non-essential features that are paid, but what's already live stays free — and a commission per order is off the table under any circumstances, because we're not a marketplace.

Does the PIX money pass through qmen.us?+

It doesn't. qmen.us only builds the PIX copy-and-paste code with your key and the order amount, to avoid typing mistakes. The transfer goes from the customer's bank straight to yours. That's why the Dashboard reminds you to check your account before tapping Confirm payment.

Is a customer who orders through qmen.us mine or yours?+

Yours. The customer arrives through the table QR code, your link or your public page — there's no storefront with competitors alongside, no fight for position and no ads to pay for. Order history, revenue and ratings stay on your Dashboard, and you export everything with Export CSV or Export PDF whenever you want.

Is there a limit on tables, items or waiters because it's free?+

There's no limit and no reduced version waiting for you to pay to unlock it. Set up your whole restaurant: every table with a QR code, the complete menu with photos, as many prep stations as your kitchen has and the whole floor team. None of it changes your bill at the end of the month.
