Open Settings and turn on self-ordering via chat, delivery orders and PIX payment: that's when the PIX key field shows up. Adding your PIX key means pasting your CPF/CNPJ, email, phone number or random key there and tapping Save — with no key, customers never see PIX as an option.
What the PIX key field is
Adding your PIX key means filling in one field in Settings: the PIX key field, which takes a CPF/CNPJ, email, phone number or random key. It isn't on display all the time — it only appears after you turn on, in this order, Self-ordering with the virtual waiter (chat), Accept home delivery orders and PIX payment. Right below it is Recipient name, which is optional.
Once the key is saved, a customer ordering delivery through the chat sees a QR code and the copy-and-paste code with the order amount already built in, and taps I've paid. That order doesn't go to the kitchen right away: it waits on your Dashboard, in the Payments to confirm block, until you check your bank statement and tap Confirm payment. The money goes from the customer straight to your account — qmen.us only shows the code, takes nothing in between and charges no commission.
Why turning on PIX payment is worth it
- With no key saved, PIX simply doesn't show up. We only offer the payment when the toggle is on and a key is filled in. A blank key means customers reach the end of a delivery order with no way to pay right there.
- The amount is already in the code. The QR code and the copy-and-paste code are generated with the order total calculated on the server, so the customer scans and their bank shows exactly R$ 42,00. Fewer transfers for the wrong amount, less checking by hand.
- Nothing reaches the Kitchen before you confirm. An order paid by PIX stays in Draft, on hold, and only becomes a real order when you tap Confirm payment. Your prep station doesn't cook for free if the money never lands.
- The customer sees who they're paying. The Recipient name appears before the QR code, so whoever is on the other end checks the name and pays with confidence — especially when the key is a CPF and the bank app shows a name that isn't the one on your sign.
- You get the full amount, with no card machine in the middle. PIX is settled directly between the restaurant and the customer. qmen.us doesn't process money, takes no commission per order and is free for the restaurant.
How to add your PIX key in 7 steps
There are seven steps, and five of them are just flipping toggles: the key field shows up at the end of the line.
-
Open your restaurant's Settings
On the Dashboard, go to Settings (the address is qmen.us/restaurante/configuracoes/). Everything we'll touch is in the first card on the page, General — the same one that holds your name, logo, photo and phone numbers. Scroll to the middle of the card, past the Complete item by item and Let guests call the waiter from the table toggles.
-
Turn on ordering via chat
Turn on Self-ordering with the virtual waiter (chat). This is the toggle that lets guests put together their own order, at the table through the table QR code or from your public page. As soon as you turn it on, an indented block opens below it with the options that depend on the chat — without it, the key field doesn't even appear on the screen.
-
Turn on delivery orders
Inside the block that just opened, turn on Accept home delivery orders. In qmen.us, PIX exists only for orders that go out for delivery: guests seated at a table never get a payment question, the tab stays open and the bill is settled in the dining room as always.
Tip: If you only serve in the dining room, you can stop here. Turning on delivery with nobody to deliver is the quickest way to receive an order you can't fulfill. -
Turn on PIX payment
One more level in, turn on PIX payment. The text under the toggle already spells out the deal: the customer pays you directly and you confirm the payment on the Dashboard, because qmen.us doesn't receive the money. Once it's on, two text fields appear right away: PIX key and Recipient name.
-
Paste your key into the PIX key field
In the PIX key field, type the key you already use to get paid: CPF/CNPJ, email, phone number or random key, up to 140 characters. There's no menu to pick the type — it's a single text field, and we use exactly what's written there. qmen.us doesn't talk to your bank, so nobody checks the key for you: read it twice before saving.
-
Say who the customer is paying
The Recipient name is optional and is shown to the customer to check before paying, something like Restaurante São Paulo LTDA. If you leave it empty, we show the restaurant's name. It's worth filling in when the key belongs to the company's CNPJ or a partner's CPF and that name differs from the name on your sign — that way nobody hesitates when it's time to pay.
-
Tap Save and place a test order
Scroll to the bottom of the card and tap Save. Now open your public page, order something through the chat choosing At home and go all the way to payment: you should see a QR code, the copy-and-paste code with the amount already in it and the I've paid button. On your side, the order lands on the Dashboard under Payments to confirm, with Confirm payment and Reject order.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to turn on chat ordering to use PIX?+
Yes. The PIX key field only appears under two toggles: Self-ordering with the virtual waiter (chat) and Accept home delivery orders. That's where the customer builds the order on their own and reaches the payment step. With the chat turned off, the field stays hidden and PIX isn't offered.
Can I charge a guest at the table by PIX?+
No. In qmen.us, PIX applies only to delivery orders. Guests who order at the table, with the table QR code, never get a payment question: the tab stays open and the bill is settled right there in the dining room, the way you already do it.
Which key should I add?+
The one you already use to get paid: CPF/CNPJ, email, phone number or random key, up to 140 characters. qmen.us doesn't talk to your bank, so it has no way to check whether the key exists — double-check the typing and place a test order before you announce delivery.
Is the amount in the code, or does the customer type it?+
It's in the code. The QR code and the copy-and-paste code are generated with the order total calculated on the server, so the customer scans and their bank app already shows the amount, such as R$ 42,00. They don't choose how much to pay.
What if the PIX payment never reaches my account?+
Use Reject order, in the same Payments to confirm block: the order is cancelled and the chat lets the customer know. If the order sits waiting for a few minutes, a Chat button also appears: there the customer sends the receipt (image or PDF, up to 8 MB) and you sort it out directly.
Does qmen.us keep a share of that money?+
It keeps nothing. PIX is settled between you and the customer, lands in your account and that's it — qmen.us only shows your key and the code. There's no commission per order, it isn't a marketplace and the system is free for the restaurant.
