Arrange delivery payment before the order leaves: PIX during the chat, with the order on hold until you confirm receipt on the Dashboard, or pay on delivery, collected by the delivery person at the door. The customer chooses in the chat and we never touch the money.
What arranging payment before the order leaves means
Arranging delivery payment means deciding, before the order even exists, when the money changes hands. At a table that's simple: the guest eats and settles up in the dining room. With delivery it isn't — the food leaves the restaurant and is gone, so the restaurant has to choose whether to get paid before cooking or at the door. You turn on both options, just one, or neither.
All we handle is the arrangement, never the money. qmen.us isn't a bank, a card machine or a marketplace: with PIX, Brazil's instant payment system, the code the customer pays carries your restaurant's key; with payment at the door, the delivery person collects, the way your restaurant already does today. In neither case does the amount go through us, and there's no commission per order.
Why it's worth settling this up front
- You choose the risk you're willing to take. With PIX, nothing goes to the kitchen before the money lands; with pay on delivery, the order goes out right away and payment happens at the door. Turn both on and the customer decides.
- The kitchen doesn't cook an unverified order. An order waiting on PIX stays a Draft, off the display and off the printer, until you tap Confirm payment.
- The customer doesn't type an amount or a key. The QR code and the copy-and-paste code already come with that order's total built in, so no cent is off and no PIX goes to the wrong recipient.
- If something goes wrong, there's a conversation before cancelling. A PIX that takes too long opens a chat with the customer, where they can attach a receipt, instead of an order lost in the middle of service.
How to arrange delivery payment in 6 steps
Six steps: two to turn on the payment options, one to see what the customer chooses, and three to run each path day to day.
-
Turn on the chat and delivery orders
Payment options only exist inside delivery orders, so they depend on two switches first. In Settings, turn on Self-ordering with the virtual waiter (chat) and, right below, Accept home delivery orders. With both on, the payment options appear indented underneath.
-
Choose the paths your restaurant accepts
Turn on PIX payment and fill in the PIX key (CPF/CNPJ, email, phone or random key); the Recipient name is optional and lets the customer check who they're paying. Next to it, the Pay on delivery switch allows payment at the door. Save.
-
See the question the customer gets
With both on, the end of the chat shows How would you like to pay?, with Pay now via PIX and Pay when it arrives. With only one on, there's no question: the chat goes straight down that path. With neither, the order is recorded without arranging payment.
-
Follow the PIX path
A customer who chooses PIX sees a QR code and the copy-and-paste code with the order amount built in, plus the Copy code and I've paid buttons, and can enter the name of whoever paid. The order is then held as a Draft, and the customer sees Awaiting payment on the tracking page.
-
Check your account and confirm the payment
On the Dashboard, the Payments to confirm block appears, with the amount, name, address and how long ago the customer said they paid. Open your bank app, check that it came in and tap Confirm payment: only then does the order go to the kitchen and print. If it didn't arrive, Reject order cancels it and lets the customer know.
Tip: After a few minutes without confirmation, a chat opens between the two of you: the customer sends the receipt (image or PDF, up to 8 MB) and you reply through Chat. -
Keep pay-on-delivery orders on record
If the customer chooses to pay at the door, the chat tells them the delivery person will collect on arrival, and the order goes straight to the kitchen, with no wait. When the delivery person comes back with the money, open the order on the Dashboard and tap Mark as paid so it gets the Paid tag and counts toward the day's revenue.
Frequently asked questions
Can I accept only pay on delivery?+
Yes. The two switches are independent: leave Pay on delivery on and PIX payment off, and the chat doesn't even ask how they'll pay — it says the delivery person collects at the door and sends the order straight to the kitchen.
Does qmen.us keep any part of the amount?+
Not a cent. We don't receive, hold or pass on money: with PIX, the code is built with your key, and with delivery, your delivery person collects. There's no commission per order, and qmen.us isn't a marketplace.
Can the customer choose PIX and not pay?+
They can say they paid without paying, but that doesn't move anything. The order stays on hold as a Draft, doesn't appear in the kitchen and doesn't print. You only tap Confirm payment after seeing the money in your account.
Do guests ordering at the table also choose how to pay?+
No. The payment question only appears on delivery orders placed through the chat on the restaurant's page. Through the table QR code the order goes straight to the kitchen and the bill is settled in the dining room, as always.
Do I need to install an app for this?+
No. qmen.us runs in the browser, on a phone or a computer — there's no app in any store. The customer opens the chat from your page's link and you confirm payment from the Dashboard.
