In the dashboard, tap Coupons and rewards, then Coupons. Fill in the code, the type of discount and the amount, and add a minimum order, dates or a use limit if you want. Save and share the code: customers type it in the chat, on the kiosk or tablet, or give it to the waiter.
What a coupon is in qmen.us
It's a code of your own, such as WELCOME10, that takes a percentage or a fixed amount off the items in an order. Each restaurant has its own coupons: a code created here doesn't work anywhere else. While you have no active coupon, customers see no coupon field and get no coupon question.
The discount applies to the items. The delivery fee stays whole, and the service charge and tip are still worked out on the full item value, so the promotion doesn't reduce what your team receives. You fund the discount: it comes off your revenue, and qmen.us charges nothing for it.
Why use them
- They give people a reason to order today. A code with an end date works well on a flyer, on Instagram or on delivery packaging.
- You control the cost. The minimum order and the use limit stop a promotion from growing bigger than you planned.
- They work wherever the order starts. The same code is valid in the delivery and pickup chat, the table chat, the kiosk, the tablet, the waiter app and orders opened from the dashboard.
- PIX comes out right. The PIX amount is calculated with the discount, so nobody does the math by hand.
- Old bills don't change. The order keeps the coupon's terms. Editing or deleting the coupon later doesn't touch orders already placed.
How to create and use a coupon, step by step
There are five steps: three in the dashboard and two when the coupon gets used.
-
Open the coupons page
In the dashboard, tap the Coupons and rewards card and then Coupons. The page shows your list of coupons and the Add coupon form.
-
Choose the code and the discount
Under Code, write letters and numbers that are easy to type. qmen.us removes spaces and turns everything into capitals, and customers can type it any way they like. Under Type of discount, pick Percentage or Fixed amount and fill in Discount: 10 for 10%, or 5 for $5.00. The discount never goes above the value of the items.
-
Set the limits you want
All of them are optional. Minimum order accepts the coupon only from that item value up. Valid from and Valid until follow your restaurant's calendar and include both days. Total uses allowed ends the coupon after that many orders. Once per customer requires the customer to be signed in with Google, so that coupon doesn't work on the kiosk or tablet, which are shared screens. Leave Active on and save.
-
The customer uses the code
In the delivery and pickup chat, the customer answers Do you have a coupon? before saying where the order should go. In the table chat, on the kiosk and on the tablet, they type it in Coupon code and tap Apply, and the total changes right away. If the code doesn't work, the screen gives the reason: expired, used up or below the minimum order.
-
Or the waiter applies it to the bill
On the order, in the waiter app or the dashboard, type the code in Coupon code and tap Apply. The Remove coupon button undoes it. Once the bill has been paid, or has received any PIX payment, the coupon can no longer be changed.
Tip: At the table, each round is its own order, and the coupon only discounts the order it was applied to. If the customer wants the discount on a big round, apply it to that one.
Frequently asked questions
Does the coupon apply to the delivery fee?+
No. The discount comes off the items only. Even with a coupon that covers every item, the delivery fee is still charged.
Does a cancelled order use up a coupon use?+
No. A cancelled order gives the use back. An order abandoned midway through the chat also stops counting after two hours.
Can I use two coupons on the same order?+
No. Each order has one coupon, and applying another replaces the first. The customer can use a coupon together with their rewards balance.
How do I turn a coupon off without deleting it?+
Open the coupon in the list and turn off <strong>Active</strong>. It stops working right away, and orders that already used it keep the discount. When no active coupon is left, the field disappears from the customer's screens.
Do coupons show in the reports?+
Revenue in the reports already has discounts taken off. There isn't yet a separate line showing how much each coupon cost.
Does qmen.us charge anything for coupons?+
No. Coupons have no fee or commission. The only cost is the discount you decide to give.
